Okay so here is some information I thought would be go to know. First do I have any experience whatsoever with The Bible, Christianity, etc?

I grew up in a Christian household. I wouldn’t say that we were strong Christians, but we Christians we were if I was asked. I “was saved” when I was in High school…a million years ago…and went to church most Sundays with a friend of mine. I would say my experience was kind of meh. I enjoyed the Christian camp I went to over a couple of summers. The churches I went to, not so much. They had a lot to say in way of judgement about me. When I got into college, I had a friend who was also searching for a church to grow in. I have gone to different denominational churches. The last church I went to was in college. It was an Episcopal church and it was on my college campus. After I graduated I found myself exploring something a little more….magickal (see what I did there). There were dogmatic rules and beliefs I couldn’t get behind among the Christian churches I went to. Although…and to this day…I had a strong connection to Mary Magdalene. I didn’t necessarily leave the Christian path in a negative way, I more so moved along to something that connected to my soul. So…here I am…a Pagan…a Witch. Currently, for about the passed 8 years, once a week I get together with a group of people and discuss…. Jesus’ teachings and messages. We have also had many discussions about Mary Magdalene and her significance. So….that’s where I am at. I have read The Bible in snippets, and tried I think twice to read the whole thing and just couldn’t get through it. My mom provides services at a church and she is doing a Bible study with her church. She has asked me to read a few books and give her my thoughts that she adds to her message. This is when it hit me. I want to do this as part of my blog.

A final bit of information I thought I should give is the version of the Bible I will be reading from, as I know they are all different. I am reading from The New Student Bible Version: Expanded and Updated. It is the New International Version (often referred to as NIV). The last copyright in this Bible is 1992. I believe this is about when I bought it, somewhere between ‘92 and ‘95. I like this Bible because it does give an introduction to each book, sort of like a brief history lesson. In certain passages it expands on what is being said. It also gives some questions to ponder on while reading the book. Finally, it gives various reading plans to read the entire bible, which I will be following…sort of. I’ll explain next entry. Blessed Be!

Still working on photos, but here is the best I could do for now! Just in case anyone wanted to see the actual cover.
